WOW!! I can't believe it has been two years of sailing around the World already for me and my fellow shipmates on the Villa Vie Odyssey! We left Belfast, Ireland back on September 30, 2024 and it has been such a great adventure to date! We have been to 201 different ports, some more than once, during those two years, with much more to come!

Above, is a group shot of the original Belfast group that was on board and at the rooftop celebration tonight.

(L TO R - Back Row - Cris L., Angel, Gazza, Fran,Me, Silja, Lori, David,  Theresa, Debra, Memo, Janice's Hand, Miguel, Joe D, Lanette, Monica, John H., Riley & John F.

Front row, Rina, Bosco, Shirene, Victor & Shriste, Johan and Melody)

There was a whole day of special event to Celebrate!

The dress theme was black & white and Thistle was also sparkling with silver & gold accents. We had a yummy menu and special cake. The pool deck, for the late night party, looked great with new neon lighting. It was a warm night, so many were also, in the pool. Sadly the mood lighting was just not great for any of my photo's!

Below is one of two video's residents put together to show our two year journey to date. My buddy Basia supplied all the Ship in Port photo's! Enjoy! Just as an FYI - I have done over 550 blog post in these two years, how many have you read?

Before coming to Cambodia , I sadly have to admit I was unaware of the landmine problems they face. On our first night in Siem Reap, where we hiked up the hill to try and see the sunset views, there was a small band of men playing instruments and our tuk tuk driver explained to me they were victims of landmine explosions who had lost limbs or their sight and were trying to make money via donations to support their families.

I rallied for our last temple of the morning, because I heard this one was unique and I think it was my favorite. Ta Prohm was built starting in 1186 by King Jayavarman VII as a Buddhist monastery and university dedicated to the king's mother. It was left mostly un-restored so that huge banyan and silk cotton trees grow directly over and through the walls. In 2001, the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider movie was filmed here.

Angkor , a UNESCO World Heritage Centre , is one of the most important archaelogical sites in SE Asia . It extends over 400 square km (250 miles). It contains hundreds of distinct structural remains and major temple sites (with around 72 recognized major structures). Below are a few other temple sites we saw. The first two were from a distance, on our sunset hike, the first night.
