Day 2 - Las Setas de Seville (Wild Mushrooms)

Seville has the largest wooden structure in the World. It is a cluster of wild mushroom shapes constructed on top of a marketplace in the center of Seville. It was a design competition, who by a German Architect and on top of the mushrooms is a walkway and terrace with 360 degree views of the city. There are 3500 pieces of wood held together by 16 Million screws! It is super cool to look at and the views were great. Your ticket to go up and view the walkways is good for a daytime and night time trip. Sadly I couldn't see the night time version, because we set sail at 6pm, but  Annie was able to go back and forward me photo's. I also used a couple photos from fellow ship mate Basia's post,  because she has a great eye and her shots are fantastic!

Ternate, Indonesia, which is both the name of the city and island, and is part of the Maluku Islands in eastern Indonesia. It is a port that sees maybe 3 Cruise ships a year. However, they really made an effort to show us the best of what they can offer. It's mainly a Muslim country, and we knew we had to dress discretely, but we knew little else. We didn't have our typical port talk prior, due to a technical issue with the AV equipment. Ben a fellow resident, organized an island tour, with about 8 stops, for 90 of us residents.

Cebu greeted our Ship with a big warm welcome, despite having just been rocked by a major Earthquake, days before our arrival. The Minister of Tourism arrived with a motorcade and she proceeded to chat with the residents and thank us, for all our support.
