SEATTLE, WASHINGTON, USA

The day started with 6 hours of waiting in Seattle Passport Office with about 20 other ship residents, to get a secondary passport book with 50 pages, to supplement my existing book of 20 pages, as it is quickly filling up with country stamps.  Then my good friend Peggy, who recently relocated to Seattle, picked me up and we started the FUN part of the visit. I asked fellow passenger Basia if she wanted to join us and the three of us went to the Dale Chihuly's museum at the base of the Space Needle.

Below made me feel like I was inside a Kaleidoscope! SO BEAUTIFUL!  I have been a fan of his work for years.

Below is some of his signature pieces called Macchia where he can use all 300 colors available to him. Love the "lip" of different color!

What a view of the Space Needle! I have been to Seattle before and the Needle was just in an open field before - now the block is teaming with Museums - Mo Pop and Science Museums right next door too.

Outside the Museum is a small garden, with more creative pieces and even a small bunny was enjoying! Right around the corner, is the MoPOP Museum, designed by Frank Gehry. Hard to photograph all the unique lines but I liked the finish colors.

We capped of this busy day with an amazing Wood Fired Pizza Dinner at Delancey. Meet up with fellow shipmates/ bookclub enthusiast to eat here since it was subject of book we all read by Molly Wizenberg called Delancey: A Man, A Woman, a Restaurant, a Marriage. Some of the best food I have ever had from start to finish! So YUMMY!!

Got to love a place that sells shirts saying " Where the heck is Yap? " Colonia ( population 3,100 ) is the Capital and Harbor town of Yap State ( population 11,600 ) one of four states in the Federated States of Micronesia. We are in the Pacific Ocean or Philippine Sea just north of the equator, Papua New Guinea and Australia.

Ternate, Indonesia, which is both the name of the city and island, and is part of the Maluku Islands in eastern Indonesia. It is a port that sees maybe 3 Cruise ships a year. However, they really made an effort to show us the best of what they can offer. It's mainly a Muslim country, and we knew we had to dress discretely, but we knew little else. We didn't have our typical port talk prior, due to a technical issue with the AV equipment. Ben a fellow resident, organized an island tour, with about 8 stops, for 90 of us residents.

Cebu greeted our Ship with a big warm welcome, despite having just been rocked by a major Earthquake, days before our arrival. The Minister of Tourism arrived with a motorcade and she proceeded to chat with the residents and thank us, for all our support.
