We only had about 8 hours of port time in KOTA KINABALU, Malaysia today, due to Port operations. I went out with Delia to see one of the most notable buildings in town, the floating mosque or Masjid Bandaraya. Our GRAB driver actually took our picture when we asked him to wait for us, and then take us to the mall afterwards.
Despite our efforts to dress conservatively ( shoulders & knees covered, and scarfs in our bags) we couldn't enter the mosque at the time we were there, due to pray schedule. So we just walked the perimeter and took some photo's. The lagoon which surrounds the Mosque, gives it the image of floating.
Sadly the afternoon clouded over and it was suppose to rain most of the afternoon, so we decided the local Mall SURIA SABAH was our best option. We have been to so many Malls, conveniently our port shuttles always seem to pick these as the drop off spot! Some residents joke they are putting together coffee table picture books on Malls Across the World. Delia got a massage and I shopped for some light weight dresses, it's HOT in southern Asia.
