KOMODO ISLAND NATIONAL PARK in Indonesia was an unexpected rare twist on this voyage.  We had no idea that we would be able to anchor right in the heart of this National Park for 3 days. The National Park is comprised of 3 major islands & 26 smaller ones and is home to the legendary Komodo Dragons!  We were suppose to anchor at the coastal town of Labuan Bajo and shuttle into the Park. But hours before docking, the Port Agents directed us to anchor right in the heart of the  Park. Captain Val made it possible for our tour vendors, to pull right up to the Odyssey, so we had super easy access to our tours saving us lots of logistics and time.


Bosco and I were part of the above group of 9 (on Left) Theresa & Riley, Paul & Nuran and (on Right) is Holly, (who put tour together), Diana and Alex. We had reservations on an all inclusive Live a Board Boat, for 2 days and a night, touring & snorkeling the islands.

Park Rangers need to take groups into the jungle to see the Komodo Dragons. The National Park was established in 1980 and is a UNESCO site, as it's the only natural habitat of the endangered Komodo dragon, the world's largest lizard. KOH CHANG, THAILAND

We just relaxed on the Island of Koh Chang, Thailand. It's one of the largest Thai Islands in the Gulf of Thailand and it has a dense, steep jungle & National Park covering the interior of the Island, which extends off shore, to coral reefs. The coast line is dotted with beaches and villages. This was a tender port, so we decided to stay on the Island for 3 nights, to be able to experience the nightlife. Turns out, it is low season, so nightlife was pretty sleepy. However, we did find a new favorite night time activity! Any Guesses?!?

Love Sea Days ! I got a much needed haircut and color. Think I'll be going shorter, but giving this a whirl! Can you see the back in the mirror? The bangs and side volume, is what drives me nuts in the heat and humidity!

WAT BANG KUNG & TRAIN MARKET - Bangkok ,Thailand

Wat Bang Kung Temple was a quick stop along the way to the Train Markets . What makes this unique is the Temple is completely enclosed by roots of four giant trees (a banyan, bodhi and others). From the outside, it looks like nature has swallowed the building. Inside the chapel is a golden Buddha image, that locals still visit to pray. It was quite active during our short visit there. The Temple dates back over 250 years and survived the Burmese invasion.
