We had a van rented for a full day of touring for 11 of us, but our driver and the city shutdowns made that first morning complicated.
We could only see Tiananmen Square through the barricades and next to nothing of the Forbidden City, So Fitting! So off to The Temple of Heaven and then the 798 Arts Area.

Later we went to a Shopping area called The Place - with a giant LED ceiling and fun bar and restaurant areas.
We left the Great Wall and went to THE MING TOMBS - however we were disappointed to find there was nothing there except the grounds.
Day 3 - we were up and on the road to the GREAT WALL at 6 am! We wanted to beat the heat and the crowds.
We took this side trip to China with about 15 others from the Ship!
